TRAINING OVERVIEW
 
In relation with the specific mission of the center to assist governmental and non-governmental institutions by providing training in the application of GIS & RS tools, and thus establish formal links with other national, regional and international institutions for GIS technology, the CGIS-NUR organizes training sessions on demand.
 
UPCOMING TRAININGS

Training on curriculum development June 18th 2005 to June 26th 2005.

Under the NUFFIC project, ICT in collaboration with CGIS-NUR is organizing a workshop on GIS curriculum development in Butare at CGIS-NUR premises. For more information, contact at info@cgisnur.org

 
Refresher Course on Geo-Informatics for Hydrological modeling from Monday October 3rd 2005 to friday October 14th 2005.

ITC, in collaboration with UNESCO-IHE and CGIS–NUR, is NUFFIC refresher course on Geo-Informatics for Hydrological modeling in Butare, at CGIS-NUR premises.

Further more, and in collaboration with different partner institutions, the CGIS-NUR is also organizing subject-orientated training and seminar.
 
NR: GIS training has been developped based on the use of ArcView 3.2© but in relation with the recent acquisition by the CGIS of ArcGIS 8.3©, the team is working at updating all materials  to reflect this change.

“Fundamentals of GIS and “Introduction to Relational  Databases with Microsoft Access©”, training organized in collaboration with DFGFI for 22 participants coming from several governmental and non-governmental institutions (MINITERE, MINADEF, MINISANTE, MINEDUC, ORTPN, WCS and NUR).
 
25 February - 2 march 2002, Butare
“Introduction to Relational Databases with Microsoft Access©” training organized for 6 participants coming from MINERENA.
 
8-15 april 2002, Ruhengeri
“Fundamentals of GIS”, training organized in collaboration with DFGFI for 6 DFGFI park staff coming from Karisoke Research Center and Tayna Natural Reserve,
 
2-13 December 2002
“Fundamentals of GIS”, training organized for 3 participants coming from MININFRAST.
SUBJECT ORIENTED TRAINING

In collaboration with different partner institutions, the CGIS-NUR is also organizing subject-orientated training and seminars.
