Launching of the Rwanda Forest Mapping with Remote Sensing Project
This project, that involves MINITERE, ISAR and ITC is aimed at providing an updated assessment of the surfaces of the forest in Rwanda, using the more recent techniques of satellite images analysis.

GIS Textbook for Secondary Schools Launch
On 17th September the Ministry of Education has officially launched the GIS Textbook for Secondary Schools. Before the launch at the ES Stella Matutina school in Rulindo District, the Permanent Secretary a.i., Samuel Mulindwa, thanked the development partners, ESRI Germany and the GIS Center of the National University for their support in bringing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to secondary schools of Rwanda.

Once again, on November 24th, GIS Day 2009 was a successful event.
